Source: EU to publish Russian sanctions prolongation order Tuesday
BRUSSELS/NAIROBI, Dec 21 (PRIME) -- The E.U. will publish a decision to prolong the sanctions against Russia for six months on Tuesday, when the decision will come in force, a source close to E.U. authorities told PRIME on December 18.
The source said that there will be no changes in the list of sanctions. “There are no changes, this is a technical rollover,” he said.
An E.U. official told PRIME earlier that the Committee of Permanent Representatives approved the sanctions prolongation. The final decision will be made on Monday by subscription.
Russian Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said that the punishment rollover was an expected move and it will not influence the Russian economy. “This was an expected step, we have not heard anything new, and this will by no means influence the Russian economy.”
